01 / The standard
Evidence and inference
Factual work should show the conditions behind material claims and distinguish source evidence, editorial inference and imaginative construction.
Human responsibility
Human editors remain responsible for approval, correction and withdrawal decisions. A generated contribution does not become its own authority.
Commercial separation
Sponsors, partners and advertisers may support work, but cannot approve, suppress or rewrite editorial material. Paid messages must be labelled and kept distinct.
Corrections and withdrawals
Material errors should be corrected clearly. Work may be withdrawn where accuracy, safety, rights or editorial integrity require it.
